On February 15, 1938, The Lyons State Bank was chartered by a group of individuals who recognized the need for another financial institution in Rice County. By the end of its first year of business, assets had grown to nearly a quarter of a million dollars. Over seventy years later, the assets of The Lyons State Bank total more than 100 million dollars, and we now serve our customers from four locations.
One of the original stockholders and Cashier was H. H. Snyder. By the early 1950s, The Lyons State Bank was purchased by then President H. H. Snyder. The Snyder family retains ownership of the bank, and the third generation of family members continues in its daily management.
The area of central Kansas we serve is largely agricultural. The bank has developed a strong base of agricultural-related customers, serving all phases of livestock and grain production, as well as agribusiness-related industries. Our agricultural expertise enables us to efficiently and effectively provide farm management services to our customers.
The Lyons State Bank offers a full array of deposit, investment, and loan products. We are able to meet all of your financial needs using the many conveniences available today without losing the personal service you don't find at larger institutions.
